Good Afternoon

I wanted to take the opportunity to update you on some of the work I have been carrying out across the Garlinge and Westbrook wards.

🚲 Illegal e-bike and knife arrest

While carrying out patrols in Westbrook, PC Oram and PC Castle stopped an individual riding an illegal e-bike that had been adapted and was capable of reaching speeds of 67mph.

During the incident, the individual was found to be in possession of a knife and was subsequently arrested.

This is another example of proactive neighbourhood policing, tackling issues that matter to residents and helping to keep our communities safe.

If you have concerns regarding illegal e-bikes or e-scooters, weapons or anti-social behaviour in your area, please continue to report them to Kent Police through the appropriate reporting channels.

🚔 Speeding and road safety

Alongside this work, we have been carrying out regular speed checks across Garlinge and Westbrook, responding to residents' concerns around speeding and road safety.

This week, speed checks were carried out on Royal Esplanade and Westbrook Avenue. We will continue to conduct checks at locations where speeding is raised as a concern.

🏠 Tackling persistent community issues

I have also issued a Community Protection Warning to a local resident in relation to persistent behaviour that had been causing issues and distress to local neighbours.

The warning contains conditions that the individual is required to follow. Any breaches can be considered for further action.

☕ Come and speak to your local officer

I will shortly be advertising some local police surgeries at Garlinge Methodist Church. These will give residents the opportunity to come and speak with me directly about local concerns or issues where I may be able to assist.
